Head of Financial Accounting & Reporting
Our client a leading Insurance organisation are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Accounting & Reporting to lead a high-performing finance function within a dynamic and regulated environment. Reporting to the CFO this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for delivering high-quality financial and regulatory reporting, strengthening financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with IFRS, Solvency II, and local regulatory requirements, while driving efficiency and excellence across financial operations. This role is initially being offered as a long term FTC with a view to extension.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the month‑end and quarter‑end close processes in line with Group accounting standards
Oversee the preparation of annual statutory accounts and internal financial reports
Deliver quarterly and annual regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland
Manage budgeting processes and support forecasting activitiesProduce financial insights and reports for executive committees, including liquidity and investment reporting
Ensure all Group reporting requirements are met through close collaboration with international stakeholders
Oversee treasury and cash management activities
Strengthen and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks
Lead internal and external audit processes
Monitor and implement changes in IFRS, Solvency II, and local GAAP requirements
Key Stakeholders
You will collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior finance leadership, Group reporting teams, actuarial and tax functions, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent)
Strong post-qualification experience in financial management, ideally within the life assurance sector
Experience in a cross‑border or multinational environment is advantageous
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., Solvency II)
Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems
Understanding of life assurance products is desirable

Proven experience managing and developing high‑performing teams
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Commercially aware with a strong understanding of business strategy
Communication & Influence
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively
