Staff Grade and Senior Social Workers – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Social Workers to join a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team based in Ballymun. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting children, adolescents, and their families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker
Carry out comprehensive psychosocial assessments with children, adolescents, and families
Provide therapeutic interventions and support tailored to individual needs
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and allied health professionals
Develop and implement care plans in line with a recovery‑oriented and family‑centred approach
Engage with external agencies including Tusla, schools, and community services
Participate in safeguarding and child protection processes
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical records
Senior Role Responsibilities (in addition to above)
Manage a complex caseload and provide clinical leadership within the team
Support and supervise junior staff and students
Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide specialist input into complex cases and multidisciplinary decision‑making
Requirements for the Social Worker
Degree in Social Work
CORU registration (or eligibility)
For Staff Grade: relevant experience working with children, adolescents, or mental health services
For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience
Experience in CAMHS or child and adolescent services desirable
Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Desirable
Experience in child protection and safeguarding
Knowledge of relevant mental health and social care legislation
Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
