About Your New Job as aCalibration Technician III
* Calibrate electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards.
* Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure type measuring and indicating instruments.
* Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.
* Disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters.
* Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
* Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
* Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
* Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures, and perform detailed mathematical calculations.
* Suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
What Skills You Need
* ASQ Certified Calibration Technician
* Involvement in medical device or other regulated industries
* Experience with DMAIC problem solving
* Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
* Ability to prioritize and execute on daily tasks and long-term objectives
* Knowledge of calibration and measurement principles: measurement uncertainty, measurement traceability, measurement standards, test uncertainty/accuracy ratios, measurement system analysis (MSA), SI units, calibration intervals, and out-of-tolerance reporting.
* Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each.
* Experience maintaining equipment service records and system logs or manuals, to document testing or operation of equipment.
* Familiar with regulations such as FDA 21 CFR Part 820 cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO 17025.
* Familiar with organizations related to metrology, measurements, or standards such as NIST, BIPM, NCSL, ASTM, ASME.
* Organized, efficient, process-oriented; interpersonal/communication skills; self-motivated; team player; strong work ethic; works well under pressure in a dynamic environment; tactful, exercises independent judgment and discretion – professional presentation.
* Ability to work on assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
* Hands-on mentality and eager to learn.
* Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
