Job Title: Central Sterile Services Technician Reports to: Central Sterile Services Manager Service Relationship: Technician Location: Bon Secours Hospital, Dublin Job Purpose: To assist in the production of sterilised medical devices, including the planning and organising of the daily workflow of the CSSD team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Collect and transport used medical devices from user areas.
Clean trolleys and storage shelves, autoclaves and all other equipment within the department to required standard.
Decontaminate used medical devices using mechanical and manual methods.
Inspect and function test devices reporting any discrepancies or faults.
Assemble and pack devices for theatre, wards and departments.
Sterilise and issue medical devices in accordance with relevant procedures.
Deliver processed devices to end-users in a timely manner Stock supply shelves and assist with stock control and requisitioning.
Maintain records where appropriate in line with department policy.
Comply with Health & Safety Regulations and ensure safe working practices.
Implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is provided at all times.
Undertake any other duties that may be required.
Participate in collecting data for audits.
Essential Qualifications National Certificate in Science (Sterile Services Technology)/ Leaving Certificate and be prepared to study for Certificate in Science Or NFQ Level 6 in Decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices.
DIT CPD in medical device decontamination.
