OverviewAssociate Director @ DesignBuild Search | Leadership, Recruitment. Design Build Search is working closely with a leading international & electrical contractor specialising in data centre projects throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe. The successful applicant will be required to travel to various sites throughout Europe. This role involves managing Junior Quantity Surveyors to ensure all commercial aspects of the business are managed effectively.Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from Design Build SearchResponsibilitiesManaging a team of surveyors to provide commercial services to the company in line with industry practice.Developing commercial reporting, administration, communication and ERP processes to industry best practices and the business needs.Establishing good relationships with PQSs to agree final accounts.Procurement: dealing with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain best value where necessary.Developing best-in-class contract documentation with the commercial director for use with suppliers and subcontractors.Continuously developing the QS function to improve efficiency across the business.Overseeing inputting of budgets and running projects through the RedSky Job Costing System. Liaising monthly with Contracts Managers on budget performance.Placement of sub-contract orders in conjunction with relevant Manager/Buying Department.Measuring work to maximise value of applications to clients.Administering applications for payment and payment of subcontractors to support cash flow and fair valuations.Evaluating terms and conditions of subcontractors with emphasis on risk, program, terms, design responsibility, etc.Preparing tender risk analyses based on standard formats and contract documentation including bills of quantities.Running accurate commercial cost control reports identifying commitments, forecast costs for materials, subcontractors and labour, including preliminaries.Preparing and monitoring project cash flows feeding into a master company cash flow.Setting up and maintaining variation logs and feeding costs for client and subcontractor variations, including management and agreement of such variations.Reviewing site programmes for delays, disruption, damage and subcontractor programmes.Ensuring client relationships are enhanced to maximise current and future opportunities.Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks with the Commercial Director.Preparing and presenting monthly company reports at project and/or business review meetings in line with company formats and standards.Providing advice on contractual claims—analysing outcomes and forecasts and reporting as required.Using the company’s financial systems to ensure accurate cost reporting.Acting in a manner that aligns with the business and upholds company standards internally and externally.Preparation of monthly commercial reports.QualificationsThird level degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.7+ years’ experience on data centre, pharma and industrial projects.Extensive M&E experience.Senior and employment detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering, Finance, and ManagementIndustries: Construction, Civil Engineering, and Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Design Build Search by 2x.
