The individual will join our Centrotherm Manufacturing Team reporting to our shift supervisor. The ideal candidate is responsible for fabricating components of our InnoFlue line of polypropylene vent system components. In this role, the candidate will operate our extrusion lines and work closely with the extrusion team. This position is on our first shift, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm on a rotating schedule of 3 days a week and then 4 days a week.
Job duties:
* Execute daily handoffs to the day shift by communicating production rates and operational status
* Lead 2nd shift team utilizing the UCG quality principles, including an emphasis on continuous improvement
* Distribute and monitor work orders to team members
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following the principles of 5S
* Safely operate production equipment and build product per work instructions
* Impart quality into every part through attention to detail and execution of in-process control plan
* Complete daily/weekly preventative maintenance of assigned equipment
* Ensure efficient use of time and equipment, maintaining appropriate records and tight inventory control and security
* Ensure manufacturing transactions are accurately entered into our MRP System
* Assist in continuous improvement initiatives
* Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed
Requirements:
* Commitment to workplace safety
* A high school diploma is required; an associate’s degree is preferred
* 2-5 years of experience with:
* Operation of extrusion equipment or similar manufacturing equipment such as blow molding, thermal forming, or injection molding
* Plastic or metal welding and fabrication certification (training provided if needed)
* Experience outside of plastics manufacturing will be considered
* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Customer-focused mindset, aiming to achieve company, department, and personal goals
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
* Good communication skills and self-motivation
* A forklift license is a plus
Physical Requirements:
* Regular use of hands to handle, feel, reach, talk, and hear
* Lift and/or move objects weighing 10-50 lbs regularly; occasionally move objects over 100 lbs.
* Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
* Sit, climb, or balance occasionally
* Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
