Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this post as Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatric Neurosciences (S/I Neurorehabilitation / Neurosurgery) is to carry out the duties as outlined below.
* The post holder will be expected to live CHI values and be child‑centered, compassionate, progressive and will act with respect, excellence and integrity.
* In conjunction with CSp Spina Bifida, the CSp Neurorehabilitation/Neurosurgery will share responsibility for and leadership of the Neurosciences Physiotherapy team in CHI at Temple Street historically incorporating but not limited to Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neurodisability, Neonatology, Metabolic and General Paediatrics.
* The Neurosciences Physiotherapy model of service delivery across CHI & in preparation for NCHI is on a transformation path to a Physiotherapy Neurodevelopmental, Neurorehabilitation & Neurodisability model. As such the CSp Neurosurgery will lead on Physiotherapy Neurorehabilitation Services.
Essential Criteria
* Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU – candidates must state CORU registration number on application.
Additional Criteria
* All candidates must have five years full‑time (or equivalent) post‑qualification clinical experience of which three years are in the area of paediatric neurosciences. Strong clinical background in acute paediatric neurosciences (drawn from Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuromuscle, Spina Bifida, Gen Paeds, Neonatology, Metabolic, Haematology/Oncology, Cardiac & Transitional Care experience).
* All candidates must demonstrate evidence of recent formal continuing professional development relevant to this role eg: post‑graduate qualifications or relevant courses.

Onboarding Process
CHI has transitioned to a process of one commencement day per month for all new employees, CHI internal transfers and secondments. This update to our onboarding process is aligned to changes in our monthly/fortnightly payroll and with the launch of our new corporate induction programme. So that the onboarding team can confirm your start date, you will need to ensure that your mandatory training is completed at least 7 days prior to your commencement date.
It is important for you to note that if you do not have your pre‑employment and mandatory training completed in time, your commencement date will be deferred to the next available date.
