Overview Our client are seeking an R&D Technician to join our R&D Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and testing prototypes both in house and in the Field. Qualifications • Relevant technical qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or similar.• 2 years of electromechanical experience or similar.• Comfortable working both in house and on farm environments.• Basic understanding of software behaviour and the ability to test software from a physical andfunctional perspective.• Experience gathering and analysing data from physical tests using sensors and measurementinstruments.• Solid experience in assembly, disassembly and modification of electromechanical systems.• Full driving licence is essential for this role.• Strong willingness to learn.• The position requires a strong candidate who can demonstrate initiative, innovation, and drive tosucceed within a fast-paced environment. ResponsibilitiesBuild, modify and test prototype units for field use and validation. Support engineering validation by setting up and conducting functional, environmental, anddurability tests on full embedded software systems and GUI functionality. Test and validate the performance of new products and features, ensuring software and hardwarefunction seamlessly together in both lab and real-world farm environments. Collaborate directly with engineers and communicate with farmers to gather critical feedback onproduct performance. Document all testing thoroughly, including detailed reports, photos, and videos to inform systemoptimisation and reliability improvements. Assemble, configure, and validate end-of-line production test equipment and cells to ensureaccurate functional verification of final products. Perform diagnostic testing, debugging and root cause analysis on failed components andassemblies returned from the field to support product reliability improvements.
