Job Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role ensures that electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems are installed safely, meet code requirements, and operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
* Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and circuit schematics.
* Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair.
* Test electrical systems using proper tools and instruments to ensure functionality and safety.
* Troubleshoot electrical problems and determine the best solutions.
* Replace circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and other electrical components.
* Install and maintain lighting systems, control panels, and distribution boards.
* Ensure all electrical work complies with local/national codes and safety standards.
* Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, or contractors on projects.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs completed.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
* High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
* Completion of an apprenticeship program or certification/licensing as an electrician.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
* Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
* Strong safety awareness
Work Environment:
* Indoor and outdoor worksites (residential buildings, factories, offices, construction sites).
* May require working at heights, underground, or in tight spaces.
