In House Conveyancing Solicitor | Public Sector
We are working on behalf of a prominent public sector body who are seeking to recruit an experienced conveyancing solicitor to join their legal team.
This permanent position will be based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
Key Responsibilities:
* Efficiently manage a large case load of property transactions from initial instruction to completion including acquisitions, freehold and leasehold sales, occupational leases, options, easements, and licences.
* Provide comprehensive and commercially relevant legal advice and support to the Property Team as required.
* Guide the Property Team in the negotiation and formulation of property transactions at heads of terms stage.
* Work on and assist with the resolution of property related debt and legally pursue where necessary.
* Identify and resolve mapping and title discrepancies and draft deeds of rectification as required.
* Assist with the preparation of responses to internal/external Property Audit queries, Freedom of Information Act requests and Parliamentary Questions.
* Assist with all queries both internal and external relating to the existing property portfolio and previously completed legal cases, sourcing and reviewing documentation where necessary.
* Assist in the management of all property related insurance claims in conjunction with the insurance broker.
* Advise on and assist in the resolution of public procurement queries as they arise for the Property Team.
* Monitor legislative developments to ensure the Property Team are kept abreast of new legislation, directives and guidance notes relevant to the management of the property portfolio.
* Obtain VAT advice on property transactions in a timely manner as required.
* Utilise technology effectively in order to manage the property business in the most effective and efficient manner.
* Ensure dignity, respect and equality are applied within and outside the Organisation and that a work life balance is supported as much as possible in the workplace.
* Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks that can arise or are assigned to this role.
Requirements:
* A qualified solicitor with a minimum of two years post qualification conveyancing experience.
* Ability to work well under pressure, independently and on own initiative.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* A full driving licence is essential.
* Ongoing flexibility and interest in international career progression and development is required.
