What is the role?
This role involves an experienced IT professional to join our growing IT team within a fast-paced medical device organisation.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience managing Microsoft Hyper-V server environments and a proven track record in designing, installing, and maintaining on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructures.
This role requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to support the evolving needs of the business.
What are the key responsibilities?
Manage, maintain, and support a hybrid IT environment that includes an on-prem Hyper-V server environment, Azure and Microsoft 365, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
Design, install, and configure on-premise server architectures to support business operations.
Develop and execute a server storage roadmap, aligned with the long-term business growth strategy.
Manage cloud server technologies (Azure, AWS, or equivalent) and contribute to hybrid environment integration.
Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
Ensure data security, backup, and disaster recovery plans are robust and up to date.
Collaborate closely with IT team members to deliver seamless infrastructure support across the organisation.
Provide and maintain a high level of documentation for system architecture, configurations, and manage change management.
Maintain vendor relationships and support procurement of hardware/software for IT infrastructure.
This role requires regular travel to multiple Aerogen sites; applicants will need to be flexible and able to work across various locations.
What education and experience are required?
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with relevant experience.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V administration.
Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining on-premise server infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs).
Proven ability to develop and manage server storage and capacity planning strategies.
Experience in IT security best practices, backup systems, and disaster recovery.
Excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills.
