We are recruiting for a Carpenter/Maintenance Operative to join our team at The Kingsley.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and well‑presented operation of all internal and external areas across the property. The Carpenter/Maintenance Operative will work closely with the Engineering team to support a high‑quality guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, including doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, fittings, and general woodwork
Support with general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and repair work
Assist with the hotel's preventative maintenance programme
Respond to maintenance requests in guest bedrooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas
Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery in good working order
Monitor the appearance and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times
Assist with emergency maintenance issues relating to fire, water, electricity, and other essential services
Submit requests to reorder supplies and spare parts as required
Report any building, equipment, or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Manager
Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous carpentry experience
General maintenance experience or a good practical skill set
A hands‑on, flexible approach to work
Strong attention to detail and pride in their work
Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
Basic IT skills
Good communication skills
Safe Pass would be an advantage
