Responsibilities
Manage Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation projects with a strong emphasis on HV/MV electrical works for large-scale industrial and renewable energy projects.
Oversee project lifecycle from feasibility studies, design, grid connection, procurement, delivery, commissioning, and handover.
Lead technical aspects of Electrical Engineering (HV/MV, substations, grid connections, switchgear, protection & control systems) within major capital projects.
Ensure project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements are clearly defined and agreed with clients and stakeholders.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across all stages with particular focus on electrical safety, grid compliance, and system reliability.
Coordinate and supervise contractors, electrical specialists, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality, on-time delivery.
Ensure compliance with electrical standards, grid codes, health & safety regulations, environmental requirements, and statutory obligations.
Monitor progress against schedule and budget, provide detailed reporting to senior management, and maintain accurate project documentation.
Support lifecycle planning, O&M considerations, and grid compliance obligations for completed assets.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (BEng Hons or equivalent).
Minimum of 8 years' experience managing engineering projects valued over €5m.
Proven track record of managing projects from design through to commissioning.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating consultants/contractors.
Strong understanding of project feasibility, risk management, and cost control.
Experience working on large Commercial, Industrial, Energy, Utilities, or Infrastructure projects.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Must be currently based in Ireland or the UK and eligible to work in Ireland without requiring a work permit.
