Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our research team for a 9-month project in Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role offers a chance to contribute to impactful research at a national level. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty, researchers, and educational professionals to gather, analyse, and interpret data, as well as contribute to research outputs.
Key Responsibilities
* Data Collection & Analysis: Assist with collecting, organising, and analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
* Literature Review: Support the team in literature review and international comparative studies.
* Survey/Interview Support: Assist in designing and administering surveys, interviews, and focus groups, including transcription, following ethical research practices.
* Report Writing: Contribute to research reports, articles, and presentations, including drafting sections and summarising findings.
* Project Coordination: Provide administrative support, schedule meetings, maintain records, and coordinate timelines.
* Collaboration: Work with faculty, stakeholders, funders, and participants to ensure smooth communication.
* Ethical Standards: Ensure all activities comply with ethical guidelines and research protocols.
Qualifications
* Education: A Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
* Experience: Practical experience with research participants, recruitment, and data collection (quantitative and/or qualitative). Experience in education research is desirable.
* Skills: Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, Excel), excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and in teams, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and understanding of ethical research practices.
