Furniture Van Driver - Navan (Permanent Full Time)
Salary range: €31,****** per annum; paid monthly
Experience: 1 year Driving experience essential with a clean B driver's license
Description: SVP is a large, national, voluntary organisation with extensive experience of working with a diverse range of people who experience poverty and exclusion.
Through its network of volunteers and staff, it is strongly committed to working for social justice and advocates the creation of a more just and caring society.
SVP employs people to support volunteers in a variety of settings including housing, community care, shops, administration, and other specialist areas.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently handle, lift, and move furniture, bric-a-brac, donation bags and similar items, ensuring all goods are transported, loaded, and unloaded with due care.
Collect and redistribute excess donated goods and stock items between donors' private homes and premises and Vincent's charity shops in the Region, delivering to customers' private homes and premises, and manage other logistical needs as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Education
– Full Clean B License required.
Experience
– At least 1 year driving experience essential with a clean driver's license, experience of lone working and ability to use initiative, experience in a similar role desirable, multi-drops experience an advantage.
Knowledge
– Knowledge of the local roads of Navan and Dublin essential, knowledge of Meath, Westmeath, Louth, Monaghan, Cavan, and Longford roads desired (Northeast &middles Region), knowledge of our Vincent Shops desirable, knowledge of the Society desirable, complete familiarisation with current Health & Safety procedures, knowledge of best practice in the area of Manual Handling.
Skills
– Good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, excellent organisational skills, customer focused with strong interpersonal skills, good problem-solving skills, ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team, establish and maintain working relationships on an ongoing basis.
