Our client is a well-established construction company based in Cork, currently seeking a qualified Accountant to join their team on a maternity leave contract. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong accounting experience in the construction sector. RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) experience is essential. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Ensure full compliance with tax obligations particularly RCT, VAT, and PAYE Oversee subcontractor payments and submit RCT returns Support project managers with cost reporting and budget tracking Assist with year-end accounts and audits Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to process improvements Requirements: Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry Strong working knowledge of RCT and subcontractor compliance Familiarity with Irish tax legislation Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Salary & Benefits: €40,000 - €45,000 annual salary Supportive and friendly team environment Valuable experience in the construction industry Flexible working hours may be considered Free on-site parking Immediate start available To Apply: Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and availability.
