Our client is a well-established construction company based in Cork, currently seeking a qualified Accountant to join their team on a maternity leave contract. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong accounting experience in the construction sector. RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) experience is essential.Key Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR and bank reconciliationsPrepare monthly management accounts and financial reportsEnsure full compliance with tax obligations – particularly RCT, VAT, and PAYEOversee subcontractor payments and submit RCT returnsSupport project managers with cost reporting and budget trackingAssist with year-end accounts and auditsMaintain accurate financial records and contribute to process improvementsRequirements:Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industryStrong working knowledge of RCT and subcontractor complianceFamiliarity with Irish tax legislationProficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detailAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesSalary & Benefits:€40,000 – €45,000 annual salarySupportive and friendly team environmentValuable experience in the construction industryFlexible working hours may be consideredFree on-site parkingImmediate start availableTo Apply:Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and availability.
