About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Yard Manager to oversee yard operations and support the smooth running of all presale and postsale activities. This is a handson position, carried out primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, and requires the ability to perform physically active duties including regular walking, standing, and vehicle movement (reasonable accommodations will be considered).
The successful candidate will be able to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and supervise staff to ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards. You will also complete detailed handovers with daytime yard teams to ensure full understanding of vehicle locations, operational issues, and yardflow status prior to sales.
Key Responsibilities
Organising staff shifts, workloads, updates, and addressing performance or conduct issues in line with company procedures.
Moving vehicles safely and efficiently to required yard locations.
Assisting customers professionally and promptly as needed.
Ensuring all vehicles are correctly located postsale and that all keys are accounted for.
Supervising drivers to ensure adherence to company policies, including internal speed restrictions.
Maintaining allocated areas in a clean, tidy, safe and organised condition at all times, including rerouting areas when required.
Safeguarding company and customer property while on duty.
Performing general equipment maintenance and reporting faults promptly.
Liaising with the Branch Manager regarding operational issues and updates.
Adhering to all company procedures, policies, and dress code requirements.
Carrying out stock checks when instructed.
Qualifications
To perform this role effectively, candidates must be able to meet the following jobrelated requirements:
Full, clean Irish driving licence held for at least 3 years, due to the need for regular movement of vehicles onsite and occasional offsite tasks.
Ability to carry out physically active duties, including long periods of standing, walking within the yard, and moving vehicles or equipment (reasonable accommodations considered).
Experience supervising staff or teams in a fastpaced environment.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
Good communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
Experience working in a vehicle yard, motor trade, transport environment, logistics yard, or auction setting.
Experience conducting stock checks, equipment checks, or similar operational duties.
Manual Handling training or certification (can be provided).
Familiarity with basic yard equipment (jump packs, tow units, radios, etc.).
Experience in customerfacing roles.
Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm
