Building a sustainable tomorrow
We are recruiting a Site Engineer to join our new building project in Carlow.
Your mission
1. Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
2. Review information from drawings, specifications, etc., to ensure clear understanding among foremen, operatives, and subcontractors.
3. Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with relevant specifications.
4. Conduct quality reviews on site regarding rebar and concrete placement.
5. Review technical submissions prior to upload to the design team to ensure the correct areas of work are addressed.
6. Oversee concrete testing and results.
7. Direct subcontractors regarding works to be carried out in some instances.
8. Prepare technical method statements.
9. Manage traffic on site, coordinating works within a busy location.
10. Record all daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in your site diary.
11. Proactively pursue your own development and training, completing work-based development programs in a timely manner.
12. Conduct your work safely, reporting any unsafe practices.
13. Develop and maintain professional relationships with all personnel.
14. Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment.
15. Maximize profit through good self-management, accuracy, and eliminating re-work.
16. Follow directions and attend meetings as required.
Who are we looking for?
1. A third-level qualification in Engineering.
2. Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in setting out roles.
3. Experience with main contractors, subcontractors, or surveying firms preferred.
4. Experience managing traffic in high-traffic sites.
5. Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
