This role ensures that data is treated as a strategic asset, supporting regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. The role will work cross-functionally with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams to embed data governance principles across the organisation and supporting the overall Risk and Compliance Management frameworks at MUFG.Role and Responsibilities:Support the Head of Data Governance in rolling out the Data Governance framework at MUFG.Create and maintain the policies and procedures in accordance with data management best practices, create awareness of these policies and procedures across IT, Business and Supporting Functions.Collaborate with the Business Data Office, Data Owners & Stewards and Data Strategy group at MUFG to create a target state operating model for data management, this will include:A Data Catalogue,Data TaxonomyThe Monitoring and identification Critical data assets that are essential to the organisation’s operations or services (Critical Data Elements),Metadata ManagementData Quality AssessmentsData issue management and remediationData Maturity assessmentsAssign ownership of data, ensuring there is a clear RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) matrix in the organisationDevelop and Create an Enterprise Level Data Scorecard to showcase progress across the various data management capabilities at MUFG, develop and maintain reporting for committees across MUFG.Develop foundational data governance training for MUFG, Encourage better data literacy within the organisation by establishing wider data management capabilities within the organisation.
