Purpose of the Role
We are supporting a well-established financial services organisation in the appointment of a Head of Finance. The successful candidate will lead the finance function and act as a key member of the senior leadership team, ensuring strong governance, effective controls, and high-quality financial oversight.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business and internal finance teams, you will support financial planning, performance management, and ongoing business development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance function, ensuring strong governance, controls, and financial reporting standards
Oversee month-end close, balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and ledger accuracy
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and governance requirements
Oversee statutory, tax, management, and performance reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Act as key contact for auditors and internal assurance stakeholders
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
Provide financial insight, analysis, and challenge to support decision-making and business cases
Monitor financial performance and support commercial decision-making
Maintain a strong and compliant financial control environment, including risk and governance reporting
Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team, including recruitment, succession planning, and capability development
Foster collaboration across finance and wider business functions
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Significant senior finance leadership experience within financial services or regulated environments
Previously held PCF 11
Strong background in financial control, reporting, and/or FP&A
Proven experience leading and developing teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience operating within regulated or structured governance environments
