Our client is a large, well-established UK insurance firm with over 70 years of experience delivering high-quality, personalised insurance solutions. With a strong presence across the UK and a reputation built on integrity, customer service, and long-standing client relationships, the company is now expanding into the Republic of Ireland.
Operating across multiple locations in the UK with a team of seasoned professionals, the firm serves a diverse range of commercial clients, including large-scale fuel retailers and logistics companies. The expansion into the Republic of Ireland marks an exciting new chapter, and the successful candidate will play a central role in developing the brand, establishing a client base, and helping shape future operations in the Irish market.
While there is not yet a physical office in Dublin, the company holds a registered address and has begun building its presence. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing business and make a meaningful impact from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Proactively seek, quote, and convert new commercial clients across a range of industries within the Republic of Ireland.
Draw on prior experience with large or complex commercial clients to inform sales strategy and client engagement.
Attend high-quality, pre-booked appointments arranged by the internal support team.
Represent the firm professionally at client meetings and business events.
Collaborate on strategic sales campaigns and support market entry efforts.
Client Relationship Management
Build strong relationships and trust with prospective clients.
Deliver bespoke insurance solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Provide a high standard of client service to support retention and long-term growth.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the UK-based commercial lines team to ensure alignment in strategy and delivery.
Report to the Commercial Lines New Business Manager and contribute to team objectives.
Share market insights and support the development of future operations in the Republic of Ireland.
Compliance & Operations
Ensure full compliance with Central Bank of Ireland regulations, including the Minimum Competency Code and Fitness & Probity standards.
Maintain accurate records and meet internal audit and quality standards.
Manage premium collection and aged debt within your portfolio.
Adhere to agreed internal procedures and contribute to operational excellence.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven track record working with large commercial clients or complex insurance portfolios.
Experience within sectors such as fuel, logistics, or transport is advantageous.
Demonstrated success in business development and client acquisition in the insurance space.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Highly motivated and capable of working independently while aligning with broader team goals.
CIP qualification required; progression toward ACII or willingness to continue professional development is encouraged.
Compliant with Central Bank of Ireland standards.
Experience with Open GI (desirable).
Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide.
