The opportunity
This is your chance to lead the future of AI engineering at EY Ireland. As a hands‑on architect and team lead, you’ll shape enterprise‑grade GenAI solutions and multi‑agent orchestration strategies. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technologies and collaborate across diverse teams to deliver impactful, scalable AI systems. This role offers the opportunity to influence EY’s AI strategy and build solutions that align with global standards and regulatory frameworks.
General Requirements
Independent Developer/Architect. Designs, codes, and deploys advanced GenAI/Agentic systems; owns subsystems end‑to‑end; establishes best practices at the project level; mentors juniors.
Experience: 2‑3+ years software engineering, with 2+ years focused on AI/ML.
Academic Credentials: BEng/BSc or MSc in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field (or equivalent experience with proven delivery).
Expected Deliverables (not exhaustive): Enterprise‑scale agent platforms and multi‑agent systems; AI guardrails/safety layers; fault‑tolerant distributed services; caching/performance optimisations; evaluation pipelines; advanced prompt optimisation; documented architectures.
Core Skills: Python and/or Java, FastAPI, Docker/Kubernetes; CI/CD (GitHub); IaC (Terraform/Pulumi); workflows (Airflow/Prefect); logging/monitoring (LangSmith, MLflow).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Applied ML (deep learning, NLP, embeddings); fine‑tuning on domain data with PyTorch/TensorFlow and Hugging Face.
Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) is highly valuable.
AI guardrails and safety (bias detection, jailbreak/hallucination mitigation, responsible AI).
Vector databases and similarity search optimisation (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS).
LLM Providers/APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini; also Mistral/Llama via Hugging Face.
Cloud: hands‑on deployment on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP; production Kubernetes; cost/performance tuning.
Ideally, You’ll also have
MSc or PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent senior industry experience.
Experience in designing evaluation frameworks and release gates for AI models.
Knowledge of vector platforms like Pinecone, Weaviate, and Milvus.
