The regulatory environment is rapidly evolving, with global consensus on targets, scientific advancements, and technological innovations requiring ongoing evaluation and adaptation.
Complex GHG accounting rules and voluntary carbon markets also influence strategy implementation.
To support strategy execution and navigate these changes, Glanbia has established a sustainability team to monitor scientific, best practice, and regulatory developments, assisting business units in developing strategies, achieving targets, building roadmaps, and fulfilling disclosure obligations.
Key Responsibilities of the Sustainability Reporting ManagerAct as an SME for environmental reporting, ensuring accurate and timely disclosures (e.g., GHG emissions, Circularity, Biodiversity impacts) to meet regulatory and stakeholder requirements in collaboration with functional teams.Review and oversee consolidated data at the group level with the Business Unit Sustainability Data Controller.Support environmental disclosure assurance alongside Internal Audit and third-party auditors.Manage development, updates, and approval of environmental policies.Lead CDP and other environmental disclosures, collaborating with stakeholders and third parties, and develop corrective action plans to improve environmental scores.Develop internal guidance documents such as the Environmental KPI Handbook and reporting procedures.Assist in environmental risk and impact assessments with BUs and third-party experts (e.g., WRI Aqueduct Water stress assessment).Streamline environmental reporting processes with the ESG Reporting team using relevant IT solutions like Greenomy, Asana, etc.Collaborate with BUs and Data Analytics teams to ensure robust sustainability data management and insights for decision-making.Advise on GHG accounting, food waste accounting, and other sustainability reporting requirements.Partner with Communications to craft engaging stories and reports on environmental performance for internal and external audiences.Skills and QualificationsDegree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or related field, with significant post-qualification experience in sustainability policy, reporting, and standards.Strong knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.Expertise in GHG accounting and sustainability data management.Experience with CDP, Ecovadis, GRI disclosures is advantageous.Understanding of environmental impacts within the nutrition industry, especially dairy processing and agriculture, is a plus.Excellent communication skills and ability to champion sustainability initiatives internally and externally.Leadership and change management skills, capable of coordinating cross-functional teams.Self-motivated with a proactive approach to new challenges.What We OfferThe chance to grow your career globally, access to continuous learning via an on-demand platform, and a competitive package including staff discounts.
