Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of private client law and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients. Key responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate planning, and lasting powers of attorney.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of private client matters, including will drafting, estate administration, and trust creation.
2. Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on matters related to estate planning and wealth management.
3. Assist clients with the preparation and execution of lasting powers of attorney and advance directives.
4. Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in private client law and regulations.
5. Liaise effectively with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in private client matters.
6. Prepare and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, and probate forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
7. Attend client meetings and consultations, addressing inquiries and providing tailored advice and solutions.
8. Uphold professional standards and ethics in all aspects of legal practice, maintaining client confidentiality and trust.
9. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of legal services.
Requirements:
1. 4 years plus PQE experience in private client law.
2. Strong knowledge and understanding of wills, probate, estate planning, and lasting powers of attorney.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
4. Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload efficiently.
5. A proactive and client-focused approach to legal practice, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
6. Membership of STEP or willingness to work towards accreditation is desirable.
7. Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
