The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a detail-oriented, Accounts Assistant.
As a key member of the finance team, the Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality accounting services.
You will be responsible for managing core financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency and growth of the business.
Responsibilities
Process and reconcile
supplier invoices
, staff expenses, and credit card transactions.
Assist with daily and monthly tasks for the Financial Accountant
Perform daily and monthly
bank reconciliations
Assist with
monthly management accounts
, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries and reconciliations.
Generate customer
invoices
, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely customer communications along with relevant timesheet reporting.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely posting of transactions
Support
month-end processes
and
management accounts preparation
Maintain accurate
ledger and project accounting records
Ensure compliance with
financial policies
and internal controls.
Support the timely
payment of creditors
and general accounting transactions
Manage a range of
ad-hoc financial reports
to support internal decision-making
Skills and Experience
A degree in Finance or related field;
actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification
(e.g., ACCA, ACA)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end procedures
Experience preparing monthly management accounts
Familiarity with
IFRS, GAAP
, and basic bookkeeping procedures
Solid knowledge of
accounting regulations and compliance
Strong Excel skills; experience with Sage accounting software and other software a plus (CoreTime, Salesforce & HR Duo is a plus)
Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational skills
Proven technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mindset
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
