About the role The Sea Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) is seeking to appoint a Senior Digital Applications & Azure Tenant Specialist to join its ICT Team. This role reports to the Executive Manager, ICT and will play a key role in overseeing the governance, optimisation and strategic use of the organisations Microsoft Azure tenant environment. The successful candidate will support business-critical applications including the SFPAs Power Platform-based inspections application, SaaS solutions and wider digital transformation initiatives across the Authority. Key Responsibilities Azure & Cloud Governance: Oversee and optimise a Microsoft Azure tenant, ensuring secure, scalable support for business-critical and SaaS applications. Power Platform Management: Support and enhance solutions built on Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, including a core inspections application. Vendor & Delivery Management: Act as the primary interface with external vendors, managing SLAs, roadmaps, releases, and issue resolution for Azure-based and Power Platform solutions. System Integration Oversight: Manage API integrations, data flows, and system dependencies across internal and external platforms, ensuring stability and impact awareness. Security & Compliance: Ensure Azure and connected systems follow cybersecurity best practices, including IAM, secure APIs, and data protection compliance. Testing & Release Management: Lead UAT processes and structured release cycles, coordinating upgrades with minimal operational disruption. Architecture & Lifecycle Management: Maintain visibility of application architecture, integrations, and lifecycle, promoting best practices in cloud and digital governance. Digital Transformation & SaaS Enablement: Identify opportunities to expand or optimise SaaS and cloud solutions, contributing to business cases and procurement. Stakeholder & Requirements Management: Translate business needs into technical specifications for vendors, ensuring effective delivery of enhancements and new digital initiatives. Risk & Resilience Management: Identify and escalate risks related to data security, third-party access, and system interdependencies. Ideal Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience Possess a qualification (minimum Level 7 NFQ) in a relevant area, with an ICT component and 3 years directly relevant ICT experience. Considerable experience managing or overseeing a Microsoft Azure tenant. Proven experience working with Microsoft Power Platform technologies (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate). Experience managing third-party vendors and overseeing externally delivered ICT services. Experience in the configuration, deployment, and management of cloudbased application solutions. Experience working with APIs, systems integration and data exchange mechanisms. Knowledge of cyber security principles relevant to cloud environments, including identity management, access control and secure configuration. Experience engaging with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Experience being the Technical Lead in projects with a large number of stakeholders and complex interdependencies, from project initiation through to implementation and support of the system. Experience coordinating or participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Fluent spoken and written English. Hold a valid drivers licence and have access to a private vehicle for occasional business travel. Be prepared to carry out some business travel to offsite meetings and to SFPA port offices nationally Desirable Experience in the Irish public sector or knowledge of public sector governance and procurement frameworks would be advantageous. Experience overseeing Azure data services such as Azure Synapse Analytics. Experience implementing or supporting enterprise inspections or regulatory systems. Knowledge of Microsoft licensing models and tenant governance structures. Experience contributing to ICT strategy, digital transformation programmes or innovation initiatives. Familiarity with national cyber security frameworks and standards applicable to public bodies. Project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) or Agile/Scrum experience.
