Job Description:
Establish and enhance a robust safety culture through successful environmental, health and safety policy implementation across the group. Proactively manage health, safety, and welfare to ensure compliance with best safe working practices from production, manufacturing, and site perspectives, aiming to significantly reduce incidents.
Champion the health & safety function throughout the business, aligned with continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor legislative updates, applying necessary changes promptly in accordance with standard procedures.
Conduct site and factory safety audits, producing metrics and/or scorecards, followed by accountability and corrective actions for outcomes. Rigorous investigation, recording, and reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring prompt corrective actions are implemented.
Provide relevant accident information and robust reporting for insurance purposes. Identify new and ongoing safety-related training with H&S Site Officers.
Ensure all sites and manufacturing facilities comply with EHS regulations, developing the EHS plan to drive long-term strategic aims. Develop EHS systems and recommend additional supports to enhance the EHS team.
Familiarity with ISO***** and OHSAS, continuing development in relevant sites and audit compliance. Regularly review and update Risk Assessments and SOPs for required job tasks.
Implement an excellent system of continuous communication channels to enhance the culture and message of 'The Safe way ....or No way'. Collaborate and update qualification platforms for various clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A recognized 3rd level professional Health & Safety/Environmental qualification is required. Background of managing and leading a team in a multi-site, manufacturing & site environment with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in civil engineering/construction rail and/or infrastructure.
