Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and stay updated on technological and legislative developments.
Responsibilities
Conduct hydrological / hydrogeological impact assessments.
Collect and analyse water quality and quantity data.
Develop and manage groundwater monitoring programs.
Prepare WFD, GWDTE, and Risk assessments.
Contribute to EIARs and regulatory submissions.
Conduct site visits for technical assessment.
Preparation of factual and interpretative desk studies and site investigation reports including production of conceptual site models.
Prepare technical reports and interpret hydrogeological data.
Undertake and support the design, implementation and interpretation of site investigation data.
Liaison with clients, local and wider geo-environmental team and other disciplines on key projects.
Project scoping, planning and programming.
Input into tenders and preparation of fee proposals.
Undertake role of employer’s representative / Supervisor on site investigation projects.
Qualifications
Relevant professional experience in hydrology / hydrogeology.
Minimum Level 8 BSc/MSc in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g., with the Geological Society or CIWEM).
Experience with groundwater sampling, drilling supervision, or flood risk desirable.
Proven experience managing complex groundwater assessments and environmental impact projects.
Strong knowledge of Irish/EU water and environmental legislation.
Proficient in hydrogeological modelling tools, GIS, and data analysis.
