The Role
Are you a seasoned Site Technical Manager or Head of Quality ready to step into a strategic leadership role that truly shapes a site’s technical and compliance future?
At Sofina Foods’ Carroll’s Cuisine site in Tullamore, we’re looking for an inspiring and detail-driven professional to lead our Technical, Quality, and Hygiene teams to even greater heights.
This is more than a compliance role—it's an opportunity to set a clear and compelling vision for food safety, quality excellence, and proactive risk management, while leading talented teams in a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Set and deliver the site's technical strategy, ensuring full compliance with food safety, legality, and hygiene regulations while continuously raising the bar
* Lead, engage, and develop your Technical, Quality, and Hygiene teams, building capability and fostering a culture of high performance
* Act as the senior technical voice for the site, collaborating with cross-functional teams, key suppliers, regulatory bodies, and customers
* Ensure robust systems are in place—from HACCP to traceability to recall procedures—driving audit readiness and business continuity
* Influence group-wide quality standards and proactively drive improvements across safety, processes, and product excellence
* Play a vital role in crisis management, customer relationships, and ensuring full alignment between site and group technical priorities
* Control budgets and lead with a commercial mindset, ensuring efficient delivery of KPIs that meet both business and customer expectations
The Ideal Candidate
You're an accomplished Technical Director, Compliance Lead, or Hygiene & Quality Manager who thrives in fast-paced, high-risk environments. You understand that exceptional quality starts with strong leadership, and you have the influence, resilience, and vision to deliver.
* Proven senior leadership in technical roles within meat manufacturing, ideally within ready-to-eat (RTE) or high-care categories
* An expert in food safety legislation and BRC/retailer standards, with Level 4 HACCP and food safety qualifications
* A confident communicator with the ability to influence from the shop floor to board level
* Commercially aware, detail-obsessed, and improvement-minded
* A role model for Sofina’s values, with a passion for people, performance, and quality
