Key Responsibilities: Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Carry out routine inspections and pre-CVRT checks to ensure roadworthiness.
Complete repairs on engines, gearboxes, braking systems, clutches, and suspension.
Use diagnostic equipment (e.g., TEXA, Jaltest) to identify and resolve faults.
Maintain accurate records and job cards in line with company procedures.
Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workshop.
Requirements: Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft, gained through a SOLAS-approved apprenticeship.
Previous experience working on heavy goods vehicles or commercial fleet vehicles.
Strong knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics, and vehicle electrical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Full valid driving licence essential HGV licence an advantage.
Familiarity with CVRT preparation and standards is preferred.
