This is a developmental opportunity; no experience is necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Catering Assistant – required to take the lead and work on own initiative in our canteen and kitchen area to cater for our students, visitors, corporate volunteers and staff who use the canteen. We are looking for a warm, caring individual who will enjoy looking after and catering for our students with Down Syndrome and has a friendly disposition toward the wider public.
Cleaning & Hygiene: Ensure the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. The canteen is set up for break times. Dishes are washed after each break, cups are bleached weekly, tables cleaned, floors swept, fridges and freezers cleaned, ovens cleaned, dishwasher and barista machine cleaned after use, stock rotated, storage areas cleaned, laundry washed and dried, bins emptied and washed.
Baking & Cooking: Safely operate equipment such as electric hob, combo oven and microwave. Prepare muffins/scones for corporate volunteers and set up/clean down after break times. Some onsite events may require cooking of food items. Cooking of food to HACCP standards is required at all times.
Documentation: Maintain daily sign-in sheets with temperature checks, complete cleaning checklists daily/weekly, prepare weekly shopping lists, maintain stock inventory lists, and record temperature checks of food items.
Garda Vetting is a requirement for this role.
