Are you an experienced microbiology professional ready to take on a strategic leadership role? Our client is seeking a dynamic Microbiology Manager to oversee microbiological testing operations at a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of over 20 analysts, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Managing bioburden, endotoxin, sterility, and environmental monitoring programs
* Developing microbial control strategies
* Leading investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
* Driving continuous improvement in lab operations, quality systems, and safety
* Managing resources, equipment qualification, maintenance, and procurement
* Supporting method development, validation, and transfer activities
* Representing the microbiology team in cross-functional meetings and audits
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of 8 years' microbiology experience, including leadership
* Strong background in environmental monitoring, bioburden, endotoxin, and sterility testing
* Experience managing microbiological testing programs, investigations, and audits
* Excellent stakeholder communication and team management skills
* Ability to develop and maintain microbial control strategies
Preferred Qualifications
* 5+ years of management experience in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, EMA)
* Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
* Experience with method development, validation, and transfer activities
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to advocate for your team
