Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dementia Care
The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dementia Care requires an individual who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with dementia and their families. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of others while being part of a dynamic team within our Nursing Homes.
As an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dementia Care, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care we provide to our residents. You will be a clinical expert, providing leadership, education, and support to our nursing staff, ensuring best practices are implemented and the individual needs of our residents are met with compassion and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical advice and support to nursing staff on complex care issues related to dementia and its management.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures based on current evidence-based practice in dementia care.
- Lead and participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the care provided to individuals with dementia.
- Educate and mentor nursing staff through formal and informal teaching sessions, in-service training, and individual support to promote best practices in dementia care.
- Act as a role model in the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with dementia and their families.
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant post-registration experience, with a strong clinical background in a relevant specialty (e.g., gerontology, dementia care).
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Nursing or a related field.
- Demonstrable expert clinical knowledge and skills in dementia care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, residents, and their families.
