Your impact
You will support the delivery of a National transport infrastructure project in Ireland where you will provide assurance in relation to the traffic engineering elements of the existing Design as well as the incoming and evolving detailed design from the Design and Build Contractors, providing assurance that all traffic designs are developed to a sufficient level of detail and definition and that they meet the required briefs and are functional, efficient and safe.
The Senior Traffic Engineer will ensure there is coordination with the Traffic Management Coordinator to ensure that there are effective traffic management arrangements in place to ensure impacts are minimised and delivery is carried out safely.
BusConnects is a strategic national‑level intervention for Ireland that will enhance sustainable transportation and the environment by upgrading walking, cycling and bus infrastructure in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford. We have been appointed by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as their Client Partner to deliver Dublin’s BusConnects infrastructure. This will include providing programme management and multi‑disciplinary expertise over a 10‑year programme to deliver 12 schemes comprising 230 kilometres of continuous bus priority corridors and 200 kilometres of cycle paths and improved pedestrian facilities from procurement through to handover of this new infrastructure.
Here’s what you’ll need
* 5+ years’ traffic management design experience in high‑value road and/or infrastructure projects
* Delivering engineering solutions and results in dynamic urban environments
* Current transport policies and design standards, including TII Publications and DMURS is desirable
* Delivery of local roads, traffic, active travel, or highway schemes/projects
* Design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural, engineering or construction sectors
* Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and other project tools and methodologies
