About the Role:
The Senior Business Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate definition and execution of Risk requirements. The role represents ERM on critical regulatory matters, serves as liaison with internal teams (including Internal Audit) on Risk issues, and oversees remediation plan implementation. Reports to the ERM, Data Transformation Execution Lead.
Responsibilities:
* Drive data governance policy alignment and data strategy execution for ERM regulatory, risk, and business decision reports, focusing on BCBS-239 reports.
* Partner with data consumers to define report data requirements, critical data elements, and quality challenges.
* Analyze data lineage and support creation of data/system flow documentation and process maps.
* Support updates for data capabilities, including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and business process maps.
* Collaborate with data owners to maintain key artifacts and improve data quality.
* Consolidate information about data flows and help institutionalize understanding of data assets.
* Identify data quality issues and develop strategies to improve controls and monitoring routines.
* Manage change processes related to data governance and system flow documentation.
* Seek opportunities to streamline data transformation initiatives.
* Act as a trusted advisor to regional teams and business staff.
* Communicate status updates and solutions effectively to stakeholders.
* Lead meetings to address issues and risks, incorporating diverse inputs.
* Provide operational support and document business/data requirements using Agile methodologies.
* Understand current data processes to develop innovative end-to-end data flow solutions.
* Address potential barriers and communicate risks with mitigation plans.
* Track and report on project milestones and activities.
* Support development of communication materials for senior management.
Qualifications:
* 12+ years in Banking or Finance, with Risk experience.
* Experience leading large-scale data projects and initiatives.
* Self-starter capable of working independently and remotely.
* Strong in data analysis, lineage, and governance.
* Effective communicator and collaborator.
* Proficient in stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing.
* Ability to see the big picture while paying attention to details.
* Knowledge of Data Governance policies or operating models preferred.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
