Job Title: Operations Leader
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. As an Operations Leader, you will play a key role in driving business success by providing challenge and support to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the operational management of the Plant, ensuring delivery of core Plant KPIs.
2. Educate and embed cultural values and behaviours within the operations team.
3. Drive Safety, Compliance & Operational Excellence within the Operations team.
4. Execute cheese production plans, meeting demands of planning and customers.
5. Manage day-to-day operational planning & execution to deliver customer & plant requirements.
6. Own operational capacity models, headcount planning, and overall training plans for the operations function.
7. Manage labour efficiency, material efficiency, and operational efficiency to predetermined financial targets.
8. Ensure product delivery, product quality, and product yields on a day-to-day basis.
9. Maintain audit readiness of production areas and ensure compliance with plant hygiene standards.
10. Lead shift-based team leads, driving accountability of in-shift performance of core KPIs.
11. Participate in daily T3 production meetings and implement corrective and preventative actions to address production deviations and failures.
12. Collaborate with site functions to drive consistent performance and operational improvement.
Requirements:
* A third-level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering or equivalent.
* Desirable knowledge of Cheesemaking.
* 3 - 5 years' experience in a food, manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment as a manager.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Demonstrated ability to use DMAIC methodology to root cause issues.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing operational excellence including standard work, tiered meetings and continuous improvement.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Results-driven, customer-focused professional with high-performance capability in a challenging business environment.
* Strong technical ability and attention to detail.
* Proven leadership skills with excellent communication, motivational skills to engage the team.
* Strong analytical ability to analyse data, recognise trends and recommend/implement actions for continuous improvement.
