Job Description:
The role of Site Engineer is a crucial part in the successful delivery of construction projects. As an integral member of the project team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project
2. Reviewing detailed design, critiquing, and communicating with designers to ensure adequate design is available for construction
3. Coordinating the development of design from designer's details to approved workshop drawings or technical information from subcontractors
4. Reading and interpreting drawings for layouts, materials, measurements, etc.
5. Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved
6. Ordering and controlling materials on site
7. Maintaining site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors
8. Ensuring good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work, and contractual awareness
9. Checking plans, drawings, and supervising setting out coordination
10. Setting out and levelling sites as required
11. Resolving unexpected technical difficulties and dealing with any problems that arise
12. Attending regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, and keeping them informed of progress
13. Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site and ensuring that regulations are adhered to
14. Supervising direct staff and sub-contractors
15. Handling technical queries when necessary and interfacing with the client, consultant, and architect regarding RFIs
