The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our front-of-house, kitchen and bar services. The ideal candidate will come from a hotel, private members' club, or high-end hospitality background and have a proven track record of managing busy service environments while maintaining high standards of customer experience and operational control.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who enjoys leading by example, developing teams, and delivering polished yet warm and personable service. You'll be expected to bring structure, consistency, and a commercial mindset to the department, with a strong focus on service standards, team development, and member satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage all aspects of the food and beverage operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day service across all outlets
· Lead, train, and mentor the hospitality team (up to 30 persons) to ensure high levels of performance, product knowledge, and guest engagement
· Create and implement structured pre-service briefings, regular training plans, and clear SOPs for all service areas
· Work closely with the kitchen team to align front and back-of-house operations, to meet member preferences and to create and update menus with the seasons
· Ensure service is well-paced, professional, and consistent across lunch, dinner, and events
· Manage weekly staff rotas, wage budgets, and operational schedules in line with projected footfall and event bookings
· Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships for the bar and service areas
· Uphold all health & safety, HACCP, and licensing compliance procedures
· Support the planning and smooth delivery of member events, private functions, and seasonal activity
· Monitor key performance indicators such as service times, cover numbers, spend per head, and wastage, reporting weekly to senior management
· Collaborate with operations and marketing to promote dining services and events, enhancing the yacht club's reputation and membership experience.
· Maintain high levels of cleanliness, presentation, and atmosphere across the clubhouse
· Build rapport with members and guests, acting as a point of contact for feedback, service issues, and event planning
Candidate Profile:
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior FOH or F&B management role within a hotel, private members' club, or comparable setting
· Confident, calm, and solutions-focused under pressure
· Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team and delegate where appropriate
· Strong understanding of hospitality operations including service logistics, stock control, rota planning, and compliance
· Exceptional organisational and communication skills
· Commercially aware with a keen eye for improving systems, standards, and efficiencies
· Experience with hospitality systems such as POS, booking platforms, rota software, and stock management tools
· A recognised qualification in hospitality management, business, or a related field is strongly preferred
· Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and events as required
· A genuine passion for hospitality, service, and guest experience
