Day Service Programme Assistant Full Time @ - Camphill Thomastown
Camphill Community is seeking applications from highly motivated individuals to join our team as Programme Assistants.
Job Purpose
To support the service (residential community and day service) in developing and fostering a person-centered culture, aiming to achieve high quality personal outcomes, development, growth, and opportunities within the ethos of CCoI and regulatory requirements.
To assist in inclusive programmes, training, and social role opportunities for participants by supporting people with support needs, volunteers, employees, and community partners. To enable meaningful work, training, and personal development opportunities based on individual ability, choice, and interests.
Key Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will:
Management:
* Understand and uphold the values and ethos of Camphill Communities of Ireland.
* Promote and comply with safeguarding and protection practices for vulnerable adults and children.
* Support safety, wellbeing, independence, and decision-making rights of community members.
* Contribute to policies and practices that ensure high standards of care and compliance with legislation and best practices.
* Build trust and maintain positive relationships with community members, staff, and volunteers.
* Be knowledgeable of the mission, values, and purpose of Camphill Communities of Ireland.
* Follow organizational policies and procedures, including HIQA Standards and other regulations.
* Engage in personal and professional development to meet evolving role requirements.
Main Tasks:
* Assist in planning activities tailored to individuals' needs, providing guidance and motivation.
* Create a positive working environment promoting group cohesion.
* Support individuals with support needs to work independently and progress.
* Coordinate with individual plans and support meetings.
* Report any concerning behavior to management.
* Attend meetings and participate in inspections and audits.
* Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, including risk assessments and equipment safety.
* Prepare materials and resources for activities.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment.
* Organize and supervise breaks and documentation related to the program.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
* QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community/Healthcare with 8 modules completed.
* Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or autism.
* Experience in running programs for this demographic.
* Understanding of the HSE's New Directions model of day support services.
* Full driver's license, ability to drive vehicles up to 8 seats and 3,500kg.

Role Details:
* Salary: €30,272 to €36,026 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).
* Location: The Watergarden, Day Opportunities, Ladywell Street, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny R95 KW11.
* Contract: Permanent, 24 or 35 hours/week.
