Job Title: Commercial Manager

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a dynamic and growing engineering organisation. This role will be based in Co. Meath and will play a key part in managing the commercial performance of large-scale electrical and engineering projects across Ireland and Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects from pre‑construction through to final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple projects
Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Manage contracts, including negotiation, administration, and risk mitigation
Ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles
Work closely with project teams during pre‑construction to provide commercial input on design and constructability
Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies
Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
Support and mentor junior commercial staff
Requirements
Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within construction or engineering
Strong knowledge of contract forms and commercial management practices
Experience working on large‑scale electrical, infrastructure, or data centre projects is desirable
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
Strong financial and analytical capabilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
