Perch Café is expanding our kitchen team as we grow our breakfast, bakery, and grab-and-go offering. We are looking for a skilled, reliable Baker / Café Cook who can take ownership of our morning bakes, breakfast service, and daily prep.
This is a key role for someone who loves structure, consistency, and creating high-quality food in a modern café environment.
Role ResponsibilitiesMorning Baking
* Prepare daily bakes: scones
* Ensure all products meet Perch quality standards in flavour, portioning, and presentation.
* Follow recipes accurately with consistent results.
Breakfast Service
* Cook a simple, high-quality breakfast menu
* Set up and maintain a clean, organised breakfast station.
* Support a smooth, fast morning service.
Sandwich & Grab-and-Go Prep
* Prepare all sandwich fillings, sauces, salads, and ingredients for the day.
* Assemble high-quality sandwiches, wraps, and bowls.
* Ensure excellent freshness, hygiene, and stock rotation.
Kitchen Organisation
* Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and compliant with HACCP standards.
* Manage morning prep lists and communicate stock or ordering needs.
* Work efficiently and independently during early shifts.
What We're Looking For
* Experience as a baker, pastry chef, breakfast cook, or prep chef (1+ year ideal).
* Strong attention to detail and consistency.
* Ability to multitask and manage a structured morning workflow.
* A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
* Passionate about food quality and café-style cooking.
