Job Description:
The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Breakfast Chef to join our outstanding kitchen team!
Scope of Role:
The breakfast chef is responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast meals for hotel guests. This includes creating a menu, planning and organizing the production of breakfast dishes, and managing a team of kitchen staff to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure 4* standards of service are achieved at all times.
* Perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
* Offer an in-depth knowledge of products and hotel services in general.
* Ensure all hygiene regulations and HACCP are adhered to at all times.
* Comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene and Employment.
* Set up assigned work station.
* Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
* Prepare, cook, and serve Breakfast/Lunch according to recipes and as directed.
* Report all maintenance problems to the manager on duty.
* Attend and participate in hotel meetings and training.
* Ensure fridges are cleaned daily and food is properly stored.
* Follow HACCP and SOPs.
* Create breakfast menus catering to guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
* Organize production of breakfast dishes, including prepping ingredients, cooking, and plating.
* Manage inventory and supplies to maintain stock levels.
* Help prepare sauces for lunch service.
* Set up for lunch service.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, assign tasks, ensure teamwork.
* Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Collaborate with front desk and dining staff for seamless service.
* Develop relationships with suppliers for quality ingredients.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving strategies.
* Stay updated with industry trends to improve menu and guest satisfaction.
* Attend hotel meetings and training as required.
The Breakfast Chef plays a crucial role in delivering an excellent dining experience by maintaining cleanliness, preparing high-quality breakfast options, and supporting lunch service. Flexibility in duties and additional tasks as directed by management are expected.
