As a result of these investments, we are seeking a Software Development Manager for a full stack development team in the AI team in the UI Platform organization. This organization is responsible for developing the end-user facing layers of Workday products, which are utilized by over 65 million employees worldwide. The responsibilities of this team range from the services that power the platform all the way up to the UI. State of the art frameworks are used in the stack, with Python and React being key languages used for services and client software respectively.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our AI team in developing cutting-edge agentic experiences for Workday users

Our team is at the forefront of developing a platform which brings agentic experiences into the Workday application. A key area of responsibility is the integration of these experiences into the Workday UI, providing a natural way to interact with agents in the context of the Workday products. Another important area is the agent platform which provides the capabilities needed to quickly develop the high-value agents for specific roles.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our AI story. You’ll work with a talented team of full-stack engineers and stakeholders to develop a ground-braking AI platform and bring its applications to market quickly. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team working at a fast pace in one of the hottest areas of our industry.
About the Role
* Hire and lead a successful development team with a direct impact on the success of the company
* Develop AI platform solutions and work with applications teams to quickly bring market leading agentic applications built on top of this platform to market
* Assist team members with career growth and personal development
* Work with program managers, peers and team members to set the best technical direction for your team and the overall organization
* Develop close working relationships with partners, Product Management and Product Design to create an extraordinary user experience for our products
* Focus on quality, while increasing effectiveness; Delivering value, while reducing waste
* Foster an environment where communication, teamwork, and collaboration are rewarded, in line with Workday’s company values
* Energize your team and have fun engineering software
About You
Basic Qualifications:
* 3+ years’ experience managing cross-functional development teams in agile environments
* Strong technical background in full-stack development
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a Computer Science/Engineering major or equivalent experience
* Proven ability to develop talent and lead successful teams when working with tight deadlines
Other Qualifications:
* A passion for AI/ML and for innovation in that space
* Industry awareness of AI applications, especially in enterprise software

Workday Pay Transparency Statement
Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
