Senior Automation EngineerA Senior Automation Engineer is required to support a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing site involved in the global production of active pharmaceutical ingredients for innovative medicines. This role sits within a collaborative engineering projects team and focuses on the definition, planning, and delivery of DeltaV automation projects across a complex manufacturing campus.The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and strategic oversight to automation project teams, ensuring delivery in line with industry best practices, regulatory standards, and project timelines. This position suits an experienced automation professional with a strong background in DeltaV systems and leadership within regulated pharmaceutical environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee team outputs, including the generation, review, and approval of design and test specifications, DeltaV application software configuration, and support of commissioning activities.Provide project oversight and technical guidance, breaking projects into manageable tasks, delegating effectively, and proactively identifying risks to ensure successful and timely delivery.Develop and contribute process engineering design expertise for specific manufacturing processes, working closely with process engineers and operations stakeholders.Lead design reviews and DeltaV application software reviews.Collaborate proactively with Computer System Validation teams to ensure all deliverables meet validation, compliance, and documentation requirements.Key RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 5 years' experience in biopharma engineering, operations, or manufacturing environments.At least 5 years' hands-on experience with DeltaV batch automation and Distributed Control Systems.Strong process engineering experience is highly desirable.Solid knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, and computer system validation.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across engineering and business functions.Proven coding experience and on-site experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.What the Role OffersA high level of autonomy, enabling ownership and professional growth.Opportunities to develop new skills and deepen technical expertise using innovative automation technologies.Exposure to large-scale capital projects within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
