Role Purpose: The Solutions Architect role is aligned with one or more major accounts managing complex Vodafone services.
Acts as a Trusted Advisor to the customer on all technical matters – part of the customer's matrix technical leadership team – perceived as an impartial player, creating value through technology across complex multiple platform and/or technology areas.
Primary customer interface—up to CIO level—for all technical design aspects of Vodafone's solutions.
Responsible to the Head of Solution Design for ensuring design coherence, fitness for purpose, and contractual compliance of the Vodafone solution.
Collaborates closely with team members across sales, business, and Vodafone teams.
Ensures the designed technology solutions are fit for purpose, deployable, and profitable, covering disciplines like sales, commercial, operations, product, programs, projects, and service.
Delivers high-quality, commercially viable technology solutions approved by the customer and stakeholders.
Creates documentation to established standards detailing the proposed solutions, including full costs.
Key Accountabilities: Manage end-to-end design activities, driving adoption and mapping solutions to customer needs.
Manage accounts with annual revenue over €1m, leading virtual teams of 4+ specialists, engaging complex stakeholders.
Lead requirements gathering, design, and documentation in designated technology areas (e.g., WAN, SDWAN, LAN, WLAN, UC, SIP, Security, Microsoft, AWS).
Develop and maintain 1-3 year customer solution roadmaps based on business drivers and industry trends.
Design solutions to meet specific customer problems, from requirements to physical designs, understanding product/technology limits, and identifying high-level options.
Create strategic roadmaps and governance structures to help customers achieve their goals, communicating effectively with senior audiences.
Provide end-to-end solution leadership, demonstrating business acumen and technical expertise in data & voice networks, cloud, ICT platforms, and enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF).
Engage with CX and board-level customers to understand requirements and persuade engagement with Vodafone.
Support commercial discussions, provide costs, and contribute to bid/tender responses and presentations.
Design Responsibilities: Understand and capture customer requirements, translating them into Vodafone solutions, SLAs, and design documentation.
Liaise with product management and experts for additional knowledge.
Articulate solutions to service and project teams, ensuring deployment readiness and operational fit.
Generate High-Level Design (HLD) documentation for customer sign-off.
Ensure designs include components for service management, monitoring, and capacity planning.
Support project sign-off processes as needed.
Candidate Profile: Minimum 10 years experience with Cisco Expert level certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCDA) or equivalent; multiple qualifications preferred.
Background in Telco, ICT, and Consulting industries.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical ideas to diverse audiences and responding to tenders.
Enterprise Architecture qualifications such as TOGAF are advantageous.
Extensive experience with Cisco/Aruba data & voice networks, Microsoft, and Cloud services (AWS, Google, Azure).
Knowledge of telecom and IT service models (e.g., ITIL, ServiceNow).
Ability to tailor communication to different audiences, fostering trust and integrity.
