Health region: HSE South WestCounty: CorkPost detailsLocation: There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available within HSE South West, Caha House, Model Farm Road; position will require travel throughout Cork and KerryContract type: Permanent Whole-timePost location context: A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Head of Service Quality and Patient Safety from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filledResponsibilitiesThe post holder is required to manage the Quality and Patient Safety Service across the Region, informed by Regional and Integrated Health Area priorities, HSE Quality and Safety Priorities and Strategies, the HSE National Service Plan, the National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare and other relevant strategies and standards.The post holder will have management responsibility for spreading learning from incidents of harm to reduce the possibility of these recurring, spread learning from good practice to ensure rapid uptake across the region, develop insights that predict harm and put actions in place to prevent this occurring, support the development of systems of care that are inherently safe.The post holder will support the clinical governance structures that are in place to manage, monitor and report on the quality and safety of services across the Region with a focus on reducing waste, harm and unwarranted variation.The post holder will actively contribute to the delivery of quality patient/client centred services. The post holder will play a key role in supporting and directing the Region towards the achievement of service objectives.The post holder will support quality, safety and service improvement strategies in planning, implementation and performance of all Regional services in a standardised manner.The post holder will be required to support and develop structures, systems and processes across the Region to deliver on the broader quality agenda and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.The post holder will be required to support and promote professional development throughout the Region to ensure that we achieve the highest quality of service delivery.Closing date06/11/2025 12:00:00Proposed interview dateProposed interview dates will be indicated at a later stage.
