EDI Officer Role
We are seeking an EDI Officer to lead on initiatives, oversee the Athena Swan Action Plan, and coordinate future applications.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and experience in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and review policies on embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion principles into all activities
* Provide guidance on equality and diversity matters
* Foster a positive work environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion
* Collaborate on events and programmes promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
* Organise training and promote sectoral initiatives
The EDI Officer will work closely with Management and the EDI Committee to achieve strategic change for staff and students. They will take ownership of the Bronze Renewal Institutional Athena Swan certification, incorporating intersectionality as a key focus.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences or education
* Experience in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organisational and time management skills
