To align the strategic plan/goals for dnata Operations, maintain HACCP & Health & safety as a priority in the workplace, driving opportunities for enhancement of service delivery, increase levels of efficiency, and maintain staff satisfaction while ensuring control of budget. Who youll deal with: Internal: Managing Director, Finance Director, HR, Direct Reports, and department Line Managers External: Airline Customers, Irish Revenue & Customs, Auditors, Contractors, EHO What youll be doing: Plan: Ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and controls to ensure all procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled. Prepares and recommends departmental budget and monitors financial performance versus the approved budget. Developing and implementing operational plans, ensuring contingency plans are developed and reviewed for effectiveness. Participates in the development of the service delivery standards to all customer airlines and other dnata business units in line with the Service Level Agreements and dnatas operations objectives. Reviews and adjusts the expenditure to ensure that the fluctuations in demand are met to deliver savings against budget and forecasts with regards to the resource management. Manages the development and succession planning within the department to ensure that there are qualified and suitable personnel to achieve the departments objectives. Acting as the Accountable Manager for Security. Deploy: Manages the use of outsourced labour to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective use of insourced/outsourced labour. Manages department projects to ensure successful delivery as assigned by the Operations Director. Lead: Ensures that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is a risk of exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions. Ensures compliance to all relevant policies, procedures, and controls across the unit to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude. Ensures safety of all staff and that they possess the skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support and acting as a role model for the desire safe behaviours. Manages effective achievement of departmental objectives through the managing of departments by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise subordinate and departmental performance. Provides leadership to the Operations Manager and department Line Managers to ensure that strategic objectives are met. Execute: Manages the performance of direct reports to ensure that performance is measured against individual targets and the required training and coaching is provided. Providing periodic reports for both customer and internal use Ensuring network performance for key airlines and local airlines is maximised This list is not exhaustive, accountabilities may vary dependant on locality and may include any other duties considered reasonable by the line manager. At Least 8 years experience in a similar role. An in-depth knowledge of operational management preferably in the food industry. Experience of change management and continuous improvement techniques. An understanding of health and safety regulations and implementation of safe working practices. Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate-desirable but not essential. People management skills, e.g. dealing with performance issues, grievances, holidays, and absence management. Experience in creation of forecasts and budgets. Computer literate, and ability to interpret complex data.
