Job Description:
This is a full-time position over a one-year fixed term in the Communications & Marketing Department. Reporting to the Communications & Media Manager, the Digital Engagement and Communications Officer will work in collaboration with the team to help grow the Abbey Theatre’s brand presence primarily through organic digital media.
The role involves working closely with the Communications and Media Officer, sharing responsibilities to optimize team capacity. The officer will develop and execute a digital engagement strategy, oversee social media channels, create content across multiple mediums, and support the Sales, Events, and Development Teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Developing the Abbey’s online voice and digital engagement plans.
* Managing content calendars across platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, website).
* Expanding influencer outreach and online community management.
* Capturing and sharing real-time content from events.
* Maintaining a consistent tone of voice.
* Collaborating with digital agencies for revenue strategies.
* Monitoring campaign metrics and using analytics tools.
* Keeping up with social media trends.
* Day-to-day social media management and content creation using industry tools.
Content Creation:
* Developing original social media content supporting brand storytelling.
* Using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audacity, Garage Band, and Canva.
Traditional Media Support:
* Supporting press releases, media pitching, and acting as press liaison.
* Building relationships with arts media.
Audience Engagement:
* Supporting departmental content needs.
* Executing campaigns and developing communication materials.
* Monitoring and reporting on campaigns.
* Participating in team meetings and identifying new audience development opportunities.
