Senior Pharmacist Role
We are seeking a Senior Pharmacist to join our team at UPMC Aut Even Hospital. This is a part-time position, available on a 24-month fixed-term contract.
About the Job
This role involves providing clinical pharmacy services, including prescription review, patient education, and documentation of clinical interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efficient running of the Dispensary, including procurement, storage, supply, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and other related items.
Key Responsibilities
* Act at all times to ensure that the care and safety of patients is assigned the highest priority.
* Understand, model, and promote UPMC core values: Quality and Safety, Dignity and Respect, Caring and Listening, Responsibility and Integrity, Excellence and Innovation.
* Participate in the delivery and development of a clinical pharmacy service.
* Manage the safe and cost-effective entry of new medications onto the hospital formulary.
* Support colleagues in Pharmacy and other disciplines with expert advice and education as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A high standard of suitability and management ability.
* Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development and role-specific learning.
* Significant, proven post-registration hospital practice experience, with a broad clinical pharmacy experience and experience of line management.
* Experience of working within an Aseptic Compounding Unit and/or haematology/oncology unit(s).
* Experience of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
